POSTED FOR VIRGINIA:

Happy World Cardmaking Day Everyone! For many card makers, World Cardmaking Day marks the beginning of card crafting for the holidays. And if you are any bit like me, you haven't made very many cards for the upcoming holiday season! Embarassed

So I invite you now to make a few of my Double Flap Cards - they are quick, easy and stylish for any occasion! You can dress them up or leave them as is because they are beautiful just the way they are!

Below are the instructions to make the Double Flap Card - here is a look at what you will be making!

***Please note that I have used distinctly coloured and patterned papers for illustration purposes only.***

First, cut one (1) piece of cardstock to 4.25 x 8.5"

Then score this piece of cardstock at 5.5"

Next cut one (1) piece of cardstock to 3 x 8"

And score this piece of cardstock at 4".

Below is a picture of the cardstock pieces you will need to form the double flap framework.

Next, cut one (1) piece of pattern paper 4 x 5.25".

Adhere to the inside of the 4.25 x 5.5" card.

Cut three (3) pieces of pattern paper 2.75 x 4".

Adhere one of the 2.75 x 4" pattern paper to the flap of the large flap.

Adhere the remaining two (2) pieces of 2.75 x 4" pattern paper to the smaller flap.

Here is a top view of the double flap card.

And here is a side view of the double flap card.

I also put two oversized brads on the short outer flap so that I may use the smaller inner flap to close the card. As well, I chose to cut an extra piece of 2.75 x 4" pattern paper to line my card - this is a personal preference.

Embellish with blossoms, ribbons, rubons - whatever you like!

I hope to see your version of the double flap card. Please post your creations in this thread.

Thanks for dropping by to see my challenge! Smile
